Dear Jay, thank you for restoring my faith in humanity. Seriously, I've spent at least 10 grand over the past 2 decades wasting $$$ on shade tree mechanics and highway robbery dealerships. They either don't know what they're doing or they knowingly overcharge anyone who "looks" naïve or vulnerable. Read - seniors or women unaccompanied by their husbands or fathers. Because this is 1950, eye roll.. Jay is the real deal.

Yes, Apna Garage is a modest shop tucked away behind a gas station. But how many mechanics have a legit 5 star Yelp rating? I'll wait.. The reason is because no-one is as honest, humble or as kind as Jay is. You can drop off your car which is very convenient. Jay diagnosed mine and explained everything in plain English without being patronizing. He's very responsive to messages, gave an honest assessment and didn't try to overcharge or upsell me. He even rode in the car with me to make sure I was comfortable driving it and that my needs were met.

In short, Jay will be my mechanic for LIFE. 100% recommend. Thanks Jay!

During a routine maintenance, the Toyota dealer told me I needed thousands of dollars of work on my car. I declined, and took the car to Jay. He showed me that everything World Toyota told me was falling apart was actually fine. He is an honest person who makes investments in his customers by earning their trust. I will absolutely bring my car to him if I ever do need a mechanic.

Took my Prius for its overdue 20K routine maintenance. Did not take more than 30 minutes, allowed me to see the entire process and showed me what needed service and what didn't. Overall great value for the service and what a extremely friendly and honest mechanic.

Will be taking my hybrid back for any future routine maintenance.

Jay is an awesome mechanic. I have a 2006 Honda Accord. He is honest, reliable and skilled. He didn't charge me any diagnostic fees after spending over two hours diagnosing the problem with my car's windshield wipers. He could've charged me more for the hassle of ordering parts for my car, identifying the bad fuse, and installing the new wiper motor, and even attaching my grill to the front of the car, but he charged a very fair amount. Jay is also pretty available - he was able to see my car within two days.
I found my new go-to mechanic.

Jay is great. Does the job at hand does not add a bunch of extras.

Great service and honesty every time!! He never wastes my time, tells me the real issue and does so with some really corny jokes :-). I have been using him for over 7 years at the recommendation of a friend and I have only been taking my cars to him ever since. I just found out he made Top 100 Yelp Local Businesses List, so further validates his integrity and quality of work.

I can see why the reviews have glowing recommendations for this place! The guy (I didn't get his name, but I suppose it's Jay according to other reviews) was truly genuine, pleasant, and funny.

So I went to get my oil changed at Meineke in Lawrenceville (yeah I name-dropped the specific location), and they made me wait 1 1/2 hours when I had an appointment. Then they later proceeded to recommend four services that totaled about ~$1300. One of their recommendations was to change the spark plugs which totaled $368. Um. Yeah. I'm a girl, but some of my family members are mechanics so you're swindling the wrong gal. Plus, I'm not one to say yes unless my car had apparent issues before coming to them (which there were none--noise, smoke, fire, etc.) or is not operating. I know you've been open for only two weeks, but geez for trying to milk me. Plus, I think my interior compartments were rummaged thru since I am particular about my things. Yeah. To top all things off.

Anyway, I wanted a second opinion. And so to Apna Garage I went. He spent about 15 mins looking at my car, spending time visually looking at the undercarriage and under the hood. He was so honest and straightforward when I mentioned the 'problem' areas.

He lifted my car up and showed me the parts he was looking at. He didn't make me feel inferior. You know. Being a girl and not knowing much about cars. I can change the freon and tires so that doesn't make me that girly.

All in all. I was just semi-worried that my car actually had some unseen problem(s), but I left feeling really grateful for the honest opinion and laughter. He truly is a great guy! Girls, don't worry about going here alone and being ripped off.

Jay is the best mechanic in the world. Of course he's an expert at what he does but he's a genius and brilliant mind. What makes him truly remarkable is he's just a good human. He truly cares about serving others so even if he owned a deli shop, Fortune 500 company, or a fitness gym, they would all succeed because he's honest, fair, and provides great service. I took my car here (at the last minute by the way) after an oil change place told me I had an oil leak. Every time I come to Jay he lifts the car and shows/explains everything in detail with a flashlight. I NEVER feel that icky 'am I being screwed over' feeling with Jay, EVER. Needless to say, it wasn't an oil leak but I desperately needed an oil change and was burning oil at a rapid rate because of it. His knowledge alone will save you time and money. I recommend Jay and only Jay to everyone I know even if you live in Macon.
